Hi, I am Anna

I am a project manager. a parent. an expatriate living in Berlin, Germany.

A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.

Origin Story

Moving to Germany wasn't in the distant plan. Like countless expat relocations, it started as a job chance and soon grew into something far beyond expectations.

The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar processes, routines, and expectations. Daily chores seemed more cumbersome than they ought to be.

The Adaptation Phase

Culture shock, uncertainty, and learning on the fly characterized those days. Yet routines gradually took shape. We found spots that fit us, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt secure.

Why I Created GlobalFamily Living

Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was a frank, everyday family viewpoint.

This site aims to bridge that gap with practical advice grounded in real life in Germany.

What This Site Represents (And What It Isn't)

This site DOES:

  • Practical insights from living in Germany
  • Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
  • Updated whenever a real change occurs

This site DOESN'T:

  • An official tourism authority resource
  • A platform for sponsored reviews
  • A generic travel blog

Looking Ahead

Our time in Germany goes on, and the learning process continues. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue recording what we uncover.

If you have questions about family life in Berlin or anywhere in Germany, don't hesitate to get in touch.

Best regards,

Anna
